Privacy Policy for Red Browser
Last updated: October 11, 2026
Red Browser ("the app") is a mobile web browser developed by [Developer Name]. This policy explains what information the app handles and how. In short: Red Browser does not send your personal data to the developer's servers. The app has no user accounts, no analytics and no advertising.
1. Data stored only on your device
The following data is stored locally on your device and is never uploaded to the developer:
- Browsing history, bookmarks, open tabs and speed dial shortcuts
- Cookies and website data (managed by the Android WebView)
- Saved passwords, kept in encrypted storage backed by the Android Keystore. They are shown only after you unlock with your fingerprint, face or device PIN, and are never synced anywhere.
- Downloaded files, saved pages, playlist items and app settings
2. Data sent to third-party services
Some features contact other services directly from your device. The developer does not receive this data.
- Search and suggestions: When you search, your query goes to the search engine you chose (Google, DuckDuckGo, Bing or Yahoo). While you type, suggestions may be requested from that engine (Yahoo uses Google's suggestion service). You can turn suggestions off in Settings, and they are not requested in Incognito tabs.
- Website icons: The domain of a site may be sent to Google's favicon service to show its icon.
- Translate: If you use "Translate", the page address is sent to Google Translate.
- News: The home page may load headlines from public news RSS feeds. Those providers can see standard request information such as your IP address.
- Voice search: Voice search uses Android's speech recognition service, which may process your audio on the provider's servers (for example Google). Red Browser does not record or store your voice.
- Downloads: When you download a file, the app contacts the website that hosts it and may send the cookies, referrer and browser identification that the site already has for your session.
- Websites you visit: Every website you open can collect data under its own privacy policy.
3. Permissions
- Internet and network state: to load web pages, search and download files.
- Camera (optional): to scan QR codes, or when a website you allow asks to use the camera. No photos or video are saved by the app.
- Microphone (optional): for Voice Search, or when a website you allow asks to use it.
- Location (optional): only when a website asks for it and you allow it. The app does not track your location.
- Notifications: to show download progress and background music controls.
- Biometric / screen lock: for App Lock and the Password Manager.
- Storage (older Android versions only): to save downloads to your Downloads folder.
- Foreground service and wake lock: to keep music playing in the background.
Camera, microphone and location requests from websites are always shown to you first, and you can decline them.
4. Incognito mode
In an Incognito tab, Red Browser does not save browsing history or cookies and does not offer to save or fill passwords. Incognito does not hide your activity from the websites you visit, your network provider or your employer or school.
5. Privacy features
Red Browser can block known ad domains, remove common tracking parameters from links, reduce browser fingerprinting and upgrade http:// sites to https:// when possible. These run on your device.
6. Controlling and deleting your data
- Settings > Clear Browsing Data removes history, cookies and cache.
- The Cookie Manager and Password Manager let you remove individual items.
- Uninstalling the app removes all data the app stored on your device. Files you downloaded to your Downloads folder remain until you delete them.
7. Children's privacy
Red Browser is not directed at children under 13, and the developer does not knowingly collect data from children.
8. Data sharing
The developer does not sell, rent or share your personal information, because the developer does not receive it.
9. Changes to this policy
This policy may be updated from time to time. The "Last updated" date above shows the latest version.
